Positive Health

Positive health can be measured in 3 ways:

  • Performance- how you perform physically and mentally

  • Absence of ill-health- lack of symptoms and signs of disease

  • Longevity- healthy life span

Western medicine very seldom teaches us how to be truly healthy. We are going to see our GP's only when we experience the symptoms.

Key to long, happy life is prevention medicine, listening and understanding our body is crucial.

Everybody should understand how our body works. Looking at our body as a machine is an easy way to start learning to apply preventive medicine to your life. Lets look at your brain as a car engine - what do you need to get your car performing well?

  • Petrol

  • Oil

  • Water

Similar applies to your body. We need:

  • Food

  • Fats

  • Water

  • Sleep

To increase our performance, we also need vitamins, minerals and understanding our genetic make-up. We all have responsibilities to help the NHS, so please take your health in your hands.
